AP Exam Information: Apr 26, 2022
Love AP Students and Families,
We hope this email finds you lot all well. You are receiving this email considering yous are scheduled to take 1 or more than Higher Board AP exams betwixt May 3 and May twenty, 2022, and we wanted to provide some important logistical information for you.
At that place will be a separate email sent on Friday, April 29, with specifics on Room #south and testing times for each exam.
Timing of Exams

LaGuardia does not supply students with pencils, pens, or calculators. Please come prepared. Mechanical pencils cannot exist used during AP Exams, per College Lath policy.
Other Helpful Data
Classes are in session during AP Exams. Students are expected to attend classes every twenty-four hours, with the exception of the time they are taking their AP exam.
Students taking AP exams will miss some classes on the days of their exams. Students are responsible for any missed piece of work. Teachers are notified who is taking each examination. Students are marked absent by their regular classroom teacher, and absences will be coded correctly by the Omnipresence Office after the exam.
While students are expected to attend classes after a forenoon exam, and attend classes earlier an afternoon exam, nosotros sympathize that some families may choose to have their students dismissed later on a morning exam, or make it afterwards for an afternoon examination, and be absent for classes. Students will only exist permitted to be dismissed early or enter belatedly with the fastened AP Exam Day form, signed by a parent/guardian. Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Calendar month Showcase Submissions Accepted Through 4/29/22
May is Asian American Pacific Islander or for short, AAPI Heritage Month. In the spirit of AAPI Heritage Month, LaGuardia is having an AAPI Showcase. The showcase will circulate positive AAPI Pride within the LaGuardia community. The showcase will contain submissions of all forms of art that expresses the beauty of AAPI cultures.

Chancellor's Message To Families: Spring Break
Dearest Families,
Our "Stay Condom, Stay Open" programme has succeeded in allowing us to keep our schools open and remain amid the safest places for immature people to be during the COVID-xix pandemic, even equally we have lifted the mask mandate for students in K-12. Course Programming Information for 2022 - 2023
Dearest LaGuardia families,
It is hard to believe that Spring Pause is upon u.s.a. in less than 2 weeks. Information technology seems similar a short while agone we were making preparations to brainstorm the school year planning all in-person teaching.
When we return from Leap Break, the process for requesting classes for next yr begins. Each year, LaGuardia participates in an internal procedure where we evaluate how successful we were in the various parts of student scheduling and higher and career planning. Senior Activities Announcement 2022
It is with great excitement that we announce - for the first time since the COVID-nineteen Pandemic began - we are able to hold both the LaGuardia Senior Prom and Graduation, in-person, in venues that will back up the entire graduating class and their guests. Our Senior Class Pupil Government representatives have done an astonishing job in the planning process.

DOE Family Letter re. Illuminate Didactics
Dear Families,
I am writing to provide yous with an update concerning a data security incident that involves an online educational vendor that many New York City Department of Education (DOE) schools use: Illuminate Education.
As you may accept seen in the news or heard from your child'due south school, Illuminate Teaching products (such as IO Classroom, Skedula, and PupilPath) were offline for a time in January 2022 due to a security incident. Since then, Illuminate has been conducting an investigation to determine whether any students' personally identifiable information was accessed as a result of this incident. On March 25, Illuminate notified the DOE that its investigation was complete, and that some students' personally identifiable information was accessed past someone without potency.
We are outraged about this breach, and nosotros will do everything possible to protect pupil data going forward and to provide farther data to families affected by this breach.
We are waiting for Illuminate to provide us with more details from their investigation, including which pupil records were accessed by the unauthorized user. Illuminate has shared the following information with us:
·Names and ID numbers (OSIS) were accessed for all students impacted past the breach.
·Engagement of nascency was accessed for virtually all students impacted past the breach.
·The types of data that were accessed for students are:
oBiographic information, such as gender, ethnicity, and race.
oAcademic information, such as instructor schedules, class assignments, and exam scores.
oSpecial education information, specifically whether your student has an Individualized Education Plan.
oOther sensitive information, such as whether your student receives free tiffin.
·No copies of student IEPs were impacted.
·No family or student financial information or social security numbers were accessed.
If your student'southward records were accessed equally part of Illuminate'south intermission in security, you will receive a letter of the alphabet in the coming weeks with more information nigh what personally identifiable data was accessed, what steps Illuminate is taking to right the situation, and how to enroll in credit monitoring services, paid for by Illuminate.
The DOE is taking this situation very seriously, and, at the Mayor's management, has referred this matter to constabulary enforcement and is considering what recourse we take on behalf of families against Illuminate. We deeply regret that your students' confidential information may have been impacted. The DOE remains committed to making sure vendors use strong protections to continue student data rubber. Illuminate has informed us that they accept added more safeguards to protect student information and have committed to independent verification of the security measures they have put in place.

We are pleased to announce that face coverings will be optional on schoolhouse grounds for students in kindergarten through grade 12 beginning Monday, March vii.

Wearing a face covering will become optional indoors, outside, and on schoolhouse buses. Anyone who chooses to wear a mask may go on to do so, and your child may request a mask from their school if they demand one.
The indoor mask mandate is still active for children in LYFE, EarlyLearn (Infants & Toddlers), 3-Thou, Pre-K, and 4410 classrooms. These children, ages two years old and older, and all staff in these classrooms, must continue to wear a face covering indoors. Since children under the age of 5 are not even so eligible to receive the vaccine, face coverings remain our strongest defense against COVID-19 for our youngest learners.
